Princess Anne injured - How long has she been on sick leave?

Princess Anne (73) is set to return to her royal duties in the middle of July? Currently, the sister of King Charles (75) is recovering at home from a head injury. In her public calendar on the website of the British Monarchy, the next engagement is marked for July 15. As Patron of "Northern Lighthouse Board", an organization responsible for lighthouses, she is scheduled to visit the ship NLV Pharos on the west coast of Scotland. Following her two-day engagement in Scotland, there are noted engagements in her calendar for Salisbury, London, Norfolk and Worcestershire.

Officially confirmed, however, is not when the 73-year-old can return to work. Her overseas trip to Canada, which was supposed to begin at the end of June, had to be cancelled. The BBC reported after Princess Anne's discharge from the hospital on June 28 that it was not expected that she would return to her public duties before the doctors deemed it safe. It is not known when that will be.

Princess Anne spent nearly a week in the hospital

Anne had been at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for five days due to a light head injury and whiplash. She is reported to have returned to her estate, Gatcombe Park in Minchinhampton, afterwards. The light injury is believed to have been sustained on her estate in Gloucestershire. It is likely that she was injured by a horse, according to British media reports.

The absence of Princess Anne is another setback for the Royals. She has been one of the most active members of the British Royal Family for years. With King Charles and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate (42) absent due to cancer treatments, she has once again proven herself an important support of the Monarchy. According to media reports, Princess Anne has completed almost a third of all upcoming royal engagements - and has increased her already heavy workload. Charles is now taking on public engagements again, but it is not known when Kate will return.
