"I've been in the hospital for 48 hours now, staying on the intensive care unit until yesterday at noon," details the 'Behind Bars' actress to fill in her fans on her ongoing recovery. "Given the circumstances, I'm doing well," she adds. "I know I don't look my best here, and you might be wondering why I'm showing myself like this. It's because I wanted to be open about the situation."

Katy then recounts what happened that led to her filming this in the hospital. Last Tuesday, she noticed she couldn't move her hand properly. It felt like she was "paralyzed." She was slow to identify the issue, believing it might just be a sprain or something. After noticing her hand back to normal after an hour, she didn't consider the possibility of a stroke.
On Wednesday, she had to take her 91-year-old father to the hospital as he'd fallen. While already there, she questioned if she, too, might have had a stroke. Doctors suggested she focus on her father instead. However, when she mentioned her issue to the doctors, they highly recommended she takes care of herself. So, she headed to a vein specialist, as an appointment with a neurologist seemed unreachable.
Following her appointment, she was admitted to the emergency room. Several hours of examinations followed, during which she was then operated on. In her video, she states, "I had a mild stroke. Thanks to early detection and prompt action, the medical team could help me so quickly. For this reason alone, I'm making this story public, even though I'd usually keep it private, fearing that news like this could harm my career. Regardless, I'm on the road to complete health."
