Drama in the Norwegian Royal House: The son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit (50) is reported to have been arrested on suspicion of bodily harm. According to the Norwegian magazine "Se og Hør", Marius Borg Høiby (27) was taken into custody by police on Sunday after an incident with a woman in an Oslo apartment.

Police have confirmed to the magazine that an arrest and charge for "bodily harm" occurred at the given address on Sunday morning. The person arrested was "later released from custody". "Se og Hør" also reports that the woman, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, was taken to hospital with a suspected brain concussion. This has not yet been confirmed. Further details about the alleged incident in the Oslo apartment are not known.

Marius' lawyer confirms charge of bodily harm

The lawyer for the 27-year-old, who is from a relationship prior to Mette-Marit's marriage to Crown Prince Haakon (51), spoke to the Norwegian "Dagbladet" about the case: "The charge is for bodily harm, which is the lowest form of violence according to the law. Neither my client nor I are informed about the full content of the case, and he has not made a statement on my advice. It is important that the process takes its course and that the media respect the privacy and peace of my client. It is up to the courts to decide if the case ends up there."

Palace silent on Mette-Marit's absence at Olympics

The arrest of their son Marius could also be the reason why Mette-Marit has suddenly cancelled her appearance at the Olympics in Paris. She was originally supposed to sit in the audience with Haakon on August 6. However, the Crown Prince appeared unexpectedly without his partner.

The palace spoke to "Se og Hør" about this: "The Crown Princess has decided to postpone her departure for now." The court also noted that Mette-Marit hopes to be able to travel there later.

Despite being initially scheduled to attend the Olympics in Paris on August 6, Mette-Marit chose to stay in Norway due to the ongoing situation surrounding her son Marius' arrest. The incident occurred on Sunday, leading to Marius' arrest and charge for bodily harm.
