Star-Love - Herbert Grönemeyer becomes a sleeve sponsor at VfL Bochum

Herbert Groenemeyer becomes the sleeve sponsor of VfL Bochum in the DFB-Pokal. The team will appear for the first time with the inscription "HG 4630 Bochum" on their sleeve in the game on Sunday, the football club announced. This is a reference to the anniversary of the double platinum album of the musician. Groenemeyer's album "4630 Bochum" was released in 1984. In the first round of the cup, the Revierclub will face second league newcomer Jahn Regensburg.

Herbert Groenemeyer makes it onto the jersey

"It was always a big dream of mine to run onto the pitch in the Ruhrstadion wearing the VfL jersey," Herbert Groenemeyer is quoted as saying. Although this didn't happen, he is delighted to have "at least made it onto the jersey." He wishes the club the greatest possible success for both the cup season and the Bundesliga.

"The idea came about around his spectacular concerts in our Vonovia Ruhrstadion," said Tim Jost, Director of Marketing and Sales at VfL Bochum. The club is very proud to have won Groenemeyer, one of the most famous artists in Germany, as a cup partner.

Ten euros per jersey will be donated

With the jersey, the club also wants to support charitable organizations. Ten euros of the sales price of the limited jerseys will go to the "Tafel Bochum & Wattenscheid e.V. - Kindertafel" and the "Suppenküche Bochum e.V." Additionally, they will receive the amount raised from the auction of worn jerseys.

"We are very pleased that our team will run onto the pitch in this cup season with the legendary HG 4630 Bochum inscription and that we can also do something good through this," said Jost.

The DFB Cup match against Jahn Regensburg marks a significant occasion for VfL Bochum, as they will debut the "HG 4630 Bochum" inscription on their jerseys, thanks to their sponsorship deal with Herbert Groenemeyer in the DFB-Pokal.

Herbert Groenemeyer's influence extends beyond just the jersey design, as VfL Bochum is proud to have him as a cup partner, with ten euros from each limited jersey sale going towards charitable organizations in Bochum.
