Germany's Next Top Model Season 2024 - Heidi Klum has made a choice: These seven models remain in contention.

In this season of Germany's Next Topmodel (GNTM) 2024, there are four female contestants and five male contestants left. The final photoshoot has some exhilarating tasks, where they need to balance on the edge of a flying helicopter, leaning out as far as possible. They are secured with safety belts and ropes. The stunt coordinator gives instructions beforehand. Heidi Klum comments, "I'm sure a few of them will struggle with their own fears, but I'm excited to see how it turns out." Jermaine, Xenia, Lea, and Fabienne confess they're scared, but they all board the helicopter anyway. Vijat Mohindra, the American photographer responsible for capturing the images, remarks, "My photography style is quite theatrical and imaginative. So, this kind of action scene is right up my alley." After the shoot, Jermaine expresses, "It was the most thrilling experience I've had in my life." The most impressive performance, according to both Klum and Mohindra, was by Xenia.

Unique Week

For the decision, the contestants are styled by Swiss designer Yannik Zamboni. He won the US show "Making The Cut" in 2022 and has been showcasing his collections in New York's Fashion Week since then. Yannik created custom outfits specifically for the GNTM semi-finals that are more artistic than everyday wear. The men also get wigs and extreme makeup with glued eyelashes and bleached eyebrows. High heels are expected for the men as well. The twins Julian and Luka really dislike the makeup. Luka feels the eyelashes look too girly, and Julian's concern is about his ankle joint. "I've had it break before in a motorcycle accident. I can't wear high heels," he explains. Yannik urges him to give them a try, but Julian prefers flat shoes. The designer is not satisfied with his decision. "If he had been at one of my castings, he wouldn't have made it past the first round."

Apart from Yannik, the supermodel Elsa Hosk visits the show. She started modeling at 14 and is well-known for her work with the lingerie brand Victoria's Secret. The GNTM contestants share these tips with the Swedish star: "Building self-confidence is crucial for a successful catwalk. Personality is what matters nowadays. Avoid comparing yourself with others; everyone is unique and special." Her favorite is Jermaine, who models a chair on the runway. "It was visually stunning. A top model must change their appearance to sell any outfit," praises Yannik Zamboni.

Final Four

Since both Jermaine and Lea were praised for their performances, it's not surprising that they make it to the finals. Along with Xenia, Fabienne, Linus, and the twins Julian and Luka, these contestants can still dream of becoming Germany's Next Topmodel. However, that also means that Grace and Frieder are eliminated in the semi-finals. Klum tells Grace, "Though you started impressively, you've lost some steam in recent weeks." Grace responds graciously, "It's disappointing, but I'm not envious. Reaching the semi-finals is still an achievement." Frieder's elimination is acknowledged by Klum: "Your photos didn't always highlight your face." Frieder steps down gracefully. "It's nothing to be upset about. I enjoyed the experience and won't look back with regret."
