Prince Christian (18), heir to the Danish throne, cheers for team Denmark at Paris Paralympics. The Danish Royal Court's Instagram shared photos of the young royal, accompanied by the caption, "Today, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is in Paris to cheer on Danish athletes and attend their games and tournaments. So far, he's witnessed wheelchair rugby and table tennis."

Numerous images showcased the son of King Frederik X. (56) and Queen Mary (52) at different sporting events. The post also revealed, "To date, Danish Paralympians have bagged four medals - one gold, one silver, and two bronze."

Underneath the post, fans expressed their delight. Comments included, "The charming and young Crown Prince is as much a symbol of Denmark as his parents, King Frederik and Queen Mary." Another wrote, "It's heartening to see the Crown Prince supporting our athletes." One enthusiastic follower remarked, "He's a carbon copy of his mother!" Yet another exclaimed, "Our dashing Crown Prince, and it's a joy to see him backing us like this."

Africa solo expedition next

This African sojourn marks the young Danish prince's first major solo trip abroad. As per a palace statement on August 30, Christian is all set to embark on an extended expedition abroad starting September 4.

"The Crown Prince will spend a significant period in East Africa, working on two farms. His activities will encompass practical and administrative tasks and give him insights into local conservation efforts. The Crown Prince is expected to return to Denmark by December," the statement said, revealing one of his projects during his gap year after high school.

Although further details about this private journey will remain undisclosed, the palace confirmed it as a long-standing tradition for Danish heirs to spend prolonged periods abroad during their youth. This enables them to "grow and explore the world."

In the past, King Frederik partook in an expedition with Mongolian nomads in 1986 and worked on a California vineyard for a year in 1989. Queen Margrethe II., then a princess, traveled to the Far East and South America in the 1960s.

Mother's influence is evident in Prince Christian's supportive nature towards Danish athletes. His enthusiasm at the Paralympics mirrors her own passion for sports.

Upon returning from his African expedition, Prince Christian is expected to share stories of his experiences with his mother, who has also embarked on similar solo trips in her youth.
