Havertz plays crucial role in Arsenal's last-minute title fight
The thrilling competition for the English soccer championship is yet to be determined until the game's final day. Arsenal London, which includes German international Kai Havertz, has regained the leading position in the standings from Manchester United, at least temporarily.
Arsenal took back the lead in the English Premier League table from Manchester City, with only one matchday left before the end of the campaign. With Havertz part of the starting lineup, the Gunners managed a 1:0 (1:0) win against Manchester United. However, Arsenal needs City to falter if they're going to achieve their dream of claiming their first Premier League trophy in 20 years. The title, though, is certain to go undecided until the end.
The defending champions could reclaim their lead from Arsenal again when they face Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday at 9 p.m. (CEST/Sky), and they'll begin the season finale on May 19 with a two-point edge (5 p.m. CEST/Sky and live ticker on ntv.de). Arsenal, on the other hand, will welcome Everton FC at their London home. In turn, Manchester City will host West Ham United at their stadium.
Havertz was once again the standout player, as both teams were evenly matched, in Arsenal's game at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old created the first goal by running past United defenders into the penalty area and passing it to Leandro Trossard (20'). Arsenal played passively, but Gunners fared well. United's Alejandro Garnacho had opportunities to equalize, but missed twice (61st/77th). Both sides had chances in an action-packed last few minutes, but Arsenal managed to secure a close victory.
Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool FC, who led the Premier League in the spring, had faded from title contention due to numerous slip-ups. They lost at home to Crystal Palace, who were struggling with relegation for a long time. (0:1)

Despite Manchester City's upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur, their lead in the Premier League is only two points over Arsenal. Kai Havertz's impressive performance against Manchester United could potentially be crucial in determining Arsenal's chance to overtake Manchester City and secure their first Premier League title in two decades. If FC Arsenal London manages to win against Everton FC, they might maintain their position at the top of the table, setting up an exciting finale in the English soccer championship.
