Sarah Ferguson - Happy birthday wishes to Princess Diana

The former daughter-in-law of the late Princess Diana (1961-1997) addresses heartfelt words directly to the mother of Prince William (42) and Prince Harry (39).
Sarah Ferguson remembers the laughter they shared
"You were a pillar of light and love. And what a legacy you left behind", writes Ferguson in a caption to an old picture of the two, where they are looking up to the sky. "I will always remember our laughter and the kind, loving spirit I found in you. I am sure that you are always with us. Rest in peace, my friend." Princess Diana passed away in 1997 due to an car accident in Paris.
Ferguson was married to Prince Charles' (75) brother Prince Andrew (63), while Diana entered into a marriage with the current monarch of Britain. In 2021, Andrew's ex-wife told "People" magazine that Diana and she had been best friends since their youth. Diana introduced Ferguson to her later husband Andrew, whom she divorced in 1996 after around ten years of marriage. In 2019, Andrew stepped down from his public duties as a Royal following the revelation of his connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019).
"We wish she was still with us every day"
On 1st July three years ago, Harry and William unveiled a statue in her honor. Harry had traveled from the US for the occasion. The relationship between the brothers was reportedly tense at the time, but they presented a united front for the cameras.
In a joint statement from the brothers it was said: "Today, on what would have been our Mother's 60th birthday, we remember her love, her strength and her character. She had the ability to touch the lives of so many, and we feel fortunate to have been brought up in her love and kindness. We wish she was still with us every day."
