Hansi Flick brings Ex-Bayern-Star Thiago back to Barcelona

The reason why the former 33-year-old has not been officially presented yet is only due to the fact that Barca is still looking for a precise job description for him. Thiago to take on important tasks at Barca
The new tasks for Thiago at his former club have already been determined by Flick. The trainer reportedly wanted a go-between himself and the team and the club. "He wanted someone who not only speaks German but also knows the club well", writes "Mundo Deportivo".
Thiago is mainly expected to influence Barca's midfielders, to convey his own and Flick's idea of football to them. The former world-class player has a significant role in mind for himself. A job in the second row is not an option for Thiago, according to the sports newspaper.
Flick is bringing in a player for his coaching team whom he knows best from their time together at FC Bayern. In the 2019/20 season, they were active together in Munich and won every conceivable title there. However, their ways parted in September 2020 when Thiago joined Liverpool.
Only on Sunday did Flick surprise with the news that Heiko Westermann will be the co-trainer at FC Barcelona. The former defender (among others, Bielefeld, Hamburg and Schalke) is leaving the German Football Association, where he had most recently worked as an assistant to Christian Wörns in the U19. Westermann played in his career at Betis Sevilla and therefore knows Spanish football and the language.
After the announcement of Heiko Westermann as his co-trainer, Hansi Flick is also expected to officially introduce Thiago Alcantara to FC Barcelona soon.
