Gisa Zach is a person who does as she pleases.

Followers of "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" are familiar with Gisa Zach. She portrays Yvonne Bode, wife of notorious villain Jo Gerner, played by Wolfgang Bahro for over 30 years on the program. Fans can now learn more about the actress: Zach is featured in the newest Playboy magazine.

Although Jo Gerner, played by Georg Schramm since 1989 on "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten," holds a questionable image, Yvonne Bode, portrayed by Gisa Zach since 2019, is a witty and humorous character. Zach displays in the July issue of German Playboy that she's not a gloomy person in real life either.

Zach had to reach 50 years old before she could agree to her first photo shoot for the men's magazine - she celebrated her 50th birthday on May 23. The invitation to pose nude had been extended to her multiple times before, Zach says in her Playboy interview. However, she had been influenced by society's view of women and believed: "If you want to be a serious actress, you can't make nude photos. Or: If you want to be elegant in old age, you can't wear a miniskirt."

But now, the actress has recognized that she was too impacted by society's perception of women. "I was so influenced that I categorically excluded something, even though I really wanted it." That's in the past, and now, she's revealed in Playboy. Zach comments that making it to the shoot "was much more than the pictures that were taken."

While her nude appearance may be about herself, it's also about a mission. Those who feature in Playboy have a goal, and for Zach, that is, "to be who and what you want to be, and do whatever you want to do." The pictures are meant "to serve as an inspiration for women to break free from patterns that seem to dictate what's acceptable and what's not, what's beautiful and what's not."

Zach also hopes that antiquated perceptions will vanish as age advances. "I think it's essential that we can finally say we can photograph women naked, even if they're over 40," she states. The actress admits that she had to develop confidence in her body throughout the years. "It's not just a matter of appearance but rather a matter of mindset and self-perception."

Regarding her appearance, Zach revealed in advance that she'd undergone a breast augmentation at age 34. After breastfeeding her two children, she was dissatisfied with her size, she explains as grounds for the operation. Professionally, there were reasons too. As an actress, she enacts sex scenes and is undressed by costume designers every day. And, "I'm just a woman who has a sex life."

Sharing details about the breast augmentation is difficult for Zach. However, she makes it clear that the operation "improved my quality of life in some way." Yes, it was "one of the best decisions" of her life.
