The German football squad fell short with a scoreless match against Ukraine in their second-to-last game prior to the European Championship. Coach Julian Nagelsmann's crew in Nuremberg was unable to amp up the excitement for the upcoming main event.

Zero Mark on the Scoreboard

The German team missed many chances to score points. On the eve of their opening game against Scotland, Nagelsmann was at a loss in Nuremberg as the ball didn't find its way into the net.

However, the zero was secured at the back by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who brilliantly thwarted several times with an audience of 42,789 people in the fully-booked Max-Morlock-Stadium. Despite his mistake close to the finish, it ultimately proved ineffective.

To claim the fourth European Championship trophy, the German squad must exhibit more potency and grit in attack. Nagelsmann's team had especially unfortunate luck in scoring their first goal from debutant Maximilian Beier (61st minute).
