The TV series "Grey's Anatomy" - Germany commences its 20th season on July 1.
Fans of the American medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy" have something to look forward to: The show's 20th season will soon be available in Germany for fans to enjoy. Following its premiere in the US in March, the German providers are now getting on board. The 20th season will be streaming on platforms Disney+ and Joyn starting July 1st, and will also air on free-to-air television on ProSeven a week later, on July 8th.
Additionally, the seventh season of "Seattle Firefighters - The Young Heroes" will premiere simultaneously on these platforms. However, this spin-off series is set to end after the current season.
Twentieth season faces challenges
The beloved series has faced some recent challenges. After the departure of main character Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo), fans were left shocked. Additionally, the filming for the 20th season was delayed due to the Hollywood strike, pushing back the starting date. The series had to be condensed to only ten episodes to better fit the TV schedule.
Despite these setbacks, German fans can still anticipate some exciting moments. Both Jessica Capshaw (47) and Alex Landi (31), who portray Dr. Arizona Robbins and Dr. Nico Kim, will return to the hospital. Natalie Morales (39), playing the role of Dr. Monica Beltran, brings a fresh perspective to the show, while the namesake of Meredith, played by different actresses, will make guest appearances throughout Season 20.
