German version of reality phenomenon emerges

Nearly thirty iterations of "The Real Housewives" exist globally. Soon, this successful reality TV format will make its way into Germany, with a Bavarian-version called "The Real Housewives of Munich." RTL has announced through their streaming platform RTL+ that this will be the first German adaptation. Beginning July 6th, two fresh episodes will be released weekly. In total, six episodes have been filmed.

"The Real Housewives of Munich" documents the lives of six affluent women from Munich, with a focus on glamour, fashion, and luxury.According to the announcement, "The lives of these extravagant characters are anything but dull." In each episode, a distinct extravagant event will be highlighted that the six women attend.

Describing the women as "charismatic, extroverted, and entertaining," RTL+ emphasizes their wealth. The platform further notes that their wealth may have been acquired through marriage, inheritance, or their own work. "Regardless, these wealthy women love showing off their affluence and giving viewers an emotional rollercoaster ride," RTL promises.

The six "Housewives" each have unique backgrounds. These include a 33-year-old mother and businesswoman, a 38-year-old former business consultant, a 38-year-old real estate broker, a 37-year-old real estate specialist, a 31-year-old performance specialist, and a 46-year-old fashion designer.

"The Real Housewives" phenomenon kicked off in 2006 with "The Real Housewives of Orange County," an American series. Adaptations of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in 2010 were so successful that several more adaptations were made. To date, a whopping 28 versions have been produced around the world.
