German handball players draw in Wolff comeback
Germany's handball players have completed their first European Championship endurance test with a partial victory. In front of 4601 spectators in Neu-Ulm, the team of national coach Alfred Gislason came to a 31:31 (16:18) win against Egypt, who finished fourth at the Olympics, in the first of two international matches.
A good two months before the home European Championships, the DHB team was delighted to see world-class goalkeeper Andreas Wolff make a brief comeback after suffering a slipped disc at the end of August. The best scorers for the hosts were director Juri Knorr and right winger Timo Kastening with six goals each. Both teams will meet again on Sunday (17:15/ZDF) in Munich.
