Fury fight against Usyk on February 17 in Saudi Arabia
The big boxing spectacle between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usyk will take place on February 17 in Riyadh. "The whole world of boxing has been waiting for this fight for so many years," said promoter Frank Warren at a press conference in London.
A planned date later this year and before Christmas did not materialize. After an exhibition fight in Saudi Arabia against the former cage fighter Francis Ngannou (37), Fury wanted to rest for the time being.
At the press conference, however, the 35-year-old Brit was already in a great fighting mood and repeatedly provoked his rival, including with insults. "I will let actions speak in the ring," said Usyk. "You can't beat me, you'll never be able to beat me," Fury immediately countered, lashing out verbally.
Fury and Usyk still without defeat
The fight in Riyadh is about nothing less than the titles of all the major federations. The 36-year-old Ukrainian Usyk holds the WBA, WBO and IBF titles. Fury is the WBC champion. The winner of the duel will be crowned the undisputed heavyweight champion. Both are undefeated so far.
"There will only be one winner. And I am determined to cement my legacy as the number one fighter of this era," said Fury.
Tyson Fury and Alexander Usyk, both undefeated heavyweight champions, will face off in a title unification fight on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This highly anticipated boxing match between Fury and Usyk, who hold the WBC and WBA, WBO, and IBF titles respectively, will determine the undisputed heavyweight champion.
