This is now Gabby's third stint with the Storm, who snagged her before the 2022 season after negotiating a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks.

Gabby expressed her eagerness to rejoin Seattle, expressing in a Storm statement that she's been yearning for the organization, her teammates, and the fans. She's eager to end the season on a high note.

Gabby, recently declared the Best Defensive Player at the Paris Games, spoke in the statement.

Her outstanding performance at the Olympics saw her average 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 steals in her six matches for France.

Gabby, 27, scored 19 points and played a key role in almost upsetting Team USA in the gold medal game, which was just a hair's breadth from going into overtime.

The Americans narrowly held off France to win the game and the gold, securing a 67-66 victory.

Team USA held a three-point advantage as France advanced the ball with 3.8 seconds remaining on the clock. Gabby, France's standout player of the day, grabbed the ball and sprinted down the court.

As she approached the three-point line, the forward released a running shot with a few seconds left in the game and hit it off the backboard as the buzzer sounded. However, surprisingly, her foot was on the line – making it worth only two points.

"Gabby's Olympic displays highlighted her exceptional talent, and we're thrilled to have her join our ranks as we prepare for the playoffs," Head Coach Noelle Quinn said in the team's statement on Tuesday.

"Gabby is a versatile player with immense talent. She's a two-way player capable of guarding multiple positions and has a strong offensive game. Given her familiarity with our system, we're confident she can make an immediate impact," Quinn added.

The Storm, currently in third place in the West and fifth overall in the league standings with a record of 18-10, will next face the Washington Mystics at home on Monday.

CNN's Kyle Feldscher contributed reporting.

Gabby's exceptional skill and performance in various sports, particularly basketball, are well-known. After her impressive display at the Olympics, she's excited to put her talents to use again on the Storm's court.
