Footballer Tah switches to FC Bayern, eyeing a large contract.

Bayer Leverkusen is allegedly shelling out a hefty sum for their most prosperous season ever: National defender, Jonathan Tah, is planning to join Bayern Munich. A report has it that the powerhouses have reached an agreement with the central defender.

It's being claimed that Jonathan Tah is eager to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer and link up with Bayern Munich. The central defender of Germany's football titans is said to have informed the Leverkusen leadership of his desire to depart, as per Sky News. Tah, who still has a year left on his contract with Leverkusen, is said to have already verbally agreed to terms with the Munich club. According to Sky, Tah will be penning a contract that will extend until 2029 with the record champions.

"I'm thinking about what the right move is for me next," Tah said a few days ago. He continued, stating that the next step should be "the right move and feel right." He mentioned Bayern's interest: "I've read a lot about it and I'm excited that I'm being linked with such a club." Tah admitted that Bayer had told him, "Either you extend your contract or you have to leave, because the club doesn't want to let a player depart without receiving a transfer fee." Tah acknowledged their stance and promised to make a decision soon. Has the decision already been made?

The reality is that the Hamburg native was undeniably one of the mainstays in Bayer Leverkusen's team last season under coach Xabi Alonso. Throughout 31 league matches, Tah played a pivotal role in making sure the champions boasted the best defense in the league (24 goals conceded). To add to their accomplishments, he won the DFB Cup with Leverkusen and reached the Europa League Final. He is also an undisputed starter for the national team alongside Real Madrid's star, Antonio Rüdiger, under national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

With Tah signing with the champions, they would lose a recognizable figure. Tah has been playing under the Bayer crest since the summer of 2015. He was signed by the double winner from Hamburg, who had loaned him to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2014/15 season. "I've always had the goal of winning a title with Leverkusen. I've achieved that now and contributed to it," Tah expressed a few days ago. He finished with, "We'll see what happens next in the future."
