Football player Alvaro Morata promptly relocates residence subsequent to the mayor's social media blunder.
Alvaro Morata, who guided Spain to victory in Euro 2024 earlier this year, joined AC Milan in July and subsequently purchased a property in Corbetta, a small town situated on the perimeter of a northern Italian metropolis.
Appearing to be elated by Morata's arrival, Mayor Marco Ballarini of Corbetta extended his welcome to the newcomer on Instagram.
"No, it's not an April Fool's Day prank; Álvaro Morata, the champion, has settled down in Corbetta," Ballarini stated Thursday, disclosing his sympathy for Milan's hated rival, Internazionale.
However, Morata seemed displeased with Ballarini's post and took him to task on Instagram Stories for "infringing upon my privacy." He also revealed his intention to search for a new residence.
"Fortunately, I don't possess any pricey real estate. My true riches are my children, whose safety you've put in jeopardy," Morata wrote, as reported by Reuters.
"I assumed that Corbetta's municipal government would afford me some degree of privacy, but instead, I'm compelled to relocate dwellings straightaway because of your inadeptness in managing social media and safeguarding your residents."
CNN has attempted to obtain comments from Ballarini.
Throughout his career, Morata has had the privilege of playing for renowned clubs such as Real Madrid, Juventus, and Chelsea. He has netted twice in his six appearances with the Rossoneri to date.
Despite his successful football career with teams like Real Madrid, Juventus, and Chelsea, Alvaro Morata's recent venture into Corbetta was marred by privacy concerns, leading him to consider moving houses.
Regardless of his love for football and achievements in various sports leagues, Morata's peace in Corbetta seemed disturbed due to unwanted attention and privacy invasion.
