- Following the summer vacation, the initial seven criminal fiction books were released.

Following several weeks of summer vacation, the new season of Sunday crime shows commences this Sunday (15th September) at 8:15 PM on ARD. The initial seven dates have been arranged, offering a mix of sad goodbyes, a minor scheduling modification, dual roles, and an 80th case. Here's what enthusiasts of the renowned crime format can anticipate in forthcoming weekends.

15th September: "Tatort: Your Mother", Vienna

The first broadcast post-vacation hails from Austria. Within the crime drama "Tatort: Your Mother" set in Vienna, Moritz Eisner (played by Harald Krassnitzer, 63) and Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser, 65) delve into Vienna's local rap scene.

A promising rapper seeks to abandon his mentor and producer's label to join a larger one. Following a concert near the label's studio, the young musician mysteriously dies. With the victim and his producer having a public feud, the primary suspect is swiftly identified. However, denying any involvement and claiming the conflict was fabricated, he vehemently protests his innocence. As the investigation progresses, further suspects emerge.

The lineup features: Two real-life rappers, Roland Koch (65, previous Bodensee-"Tatort" detective) and Hary Prinz (59, "Steirerkrimis").

22nd September: "Tatort: Ad Acta", Black Forest

Next, bring on the detectives of Black Forest — Franziska Tobler (Eva Löbau, 52) and Friedemann Berg (Hans-Jochen Wagner, 55). Note the slight alteration in the crime drama's starting time to 8:20 PM due to the Brandenburg state elections, according to the program schedule.

The narrative revolves around a successful, albeit morally ambiguous, law firm. When a young lawyer from the firm is gunned down, the firm's boss, also the victim's stepfather, remains tight-lipped. Invoking legal privilege, he refuses to divulge any information on his clients. Determined to unearth the truth, the investigators even drag Tobler's father into the case, as the ex-cop has had previous experiences with the firm's founder.

The ensemble includes: August Zirner (68, "Tatort: Der Fremdwohner" protagonist) and Sammy Scheuritzel (26, "Tatort: Schau mich an"'s murderer).

29th September: "Tatort: It Greens So Green When Frankfurt's Hills Bloom", Frankfurt/Main

Anna Janneke and Paul Brix embark on their final crime-solving escapade. After ten years and 19 cases as Frankfurt's "Tatort" duo, Margarita Broich (64) and Wolfram Koch (62) depart from their popular roles with this episode.

Guided by a crime drama laced with psychological and family strife, a troubled psychologist and victim support officer for Frankfurt police murders becomes the unwilling accomplice to the ordinance officer's own murder. Having been mistaken for his support officer, he inadvertently assists Janneke and Brix in their investigation. When a prominent figure in the red-light district threatens the victim support officer with gambling debts, the situation spirals out of control.

The cast includes: Matthias Brandt (62, former Munich's "Polizeiruf" Kommissar Hanns von Meuffels) and Franziska Brandmeier (31, "Ein Hauch von Amerika").

6th October: "Tatort: Regardless", Franconia

Expect another farewell in this Sunday's crime drama. This time, the team of Felix Voss (Fabian Hinrichs, born 1974) and Wanda Goldwasser (Eli Wasserscheid, 45) bring Kommissarin Paula Ringelhahn (Dagmar Manzel, 66) to a close, as she bids adieu to the Franconian crime scene after ten cases since 2015.

In this crime drama, a young inmate, believed innocent by his family, takes his own life. In quick succession, another inmate from a separate family meets a similarly tragic end. "Like a sinister game of dominoes, events unfold in Nuremberg, uniting the two families in sorrow and loss, dividing them with anger and guilt," the network eloquently depicts this case.

The ensemble features: Fritz Karl (56, "Leader and Seducer"), Mercedes Müller (27, "Bonn", "Oktoberfest 1900", "Tschick"), and Florian Karlheim (47, "Munich 7" cult police officer).

October 13: "Polizeiruf 110: Waterways", Brandenburg/Poland

At last, we're blessed with a "Polizeiruf 110" for the new season. Featured detectives this time are Vincent Ross (Andre Kaczmarczyk, 38) and Karl Rogov (Frank Leo Schröder, 63).

In the midst of Eberswalde, a Polish student attending the University of Sustainable Development perishes in a canoe on the Finow Canal. She has been researching the use of waterways and Eberswalde harbor for her master's thesis. The dedicated detectives begin their investigation along the historical waterway, at the harbor, and in a canoe club, who had hosted a birthday party for a professor from the university on the night prior. When they examine the victim's phone, they unearth a promising lead.

The cast includes: Wanja Mues (50, ten-year veteran private investigator in "Ein Fall für zwei").

October 20th: "Tatort: Murot and the Milennium Empire", Wiesbaden

It's a unique twist in the Hessen crime drama series once more, as Ulrich Tukur (67) and Barbara Philipp (58) aren't just playing Kommissar Felix Murot and his assistant Magda Wächter, but they're also portraying double roles.

In the present-day narrative, they're waiting for a sought-after war criminal from South America at Frankfurt Airport, who's set to stand trial in Germany. Thirty years ago, he managed to slip away from Tukur once. There's another storyline set in 1944. Here, Tukur takes on the role of Kommissar Rother, investigating a murder case in a small village alongside the war criminal from the present-day storyline.

The cast includes: Cornelius Obonya (55, "The New Look") and the acclaimed Berlin actress Imogen Kogge (67).

October 27th: "Tatort: Your Due", Ludwigshafen

The 80th case for the longest-serving "Tatort" investigator, Lena Odenthal, is at hand. Ulrike Folkerts (63) has been playing this role since 1989, and since 2014, Lisa Bitter (40) has joined the team as Kommissarin Johanna Stern.

Similar to the Black Forest crime drama "Tatort: Ad Acta" (September 22), a lawyer gets shot in the office of a family member this time as well. The victim is the husband of a no-nonsense lawyer who mainly works for employers and exploits every legal loophole for their advantage. Currently, she's severely questioning the credibility of a fired call center employee, who also stands to lose custody of his son. In a nutshell: The driven lawyer has more enemies than she'd like and seems to have riled up some serious ones.

The cast includes: Sandra Borgmann (50, "The King of Palma").

Following the broadcast of "Tatort: Your Mother" on 15th September, an additional announcement was made: "The following is added: A special episode of 'Tatort: Wiesbaden', featuring the return of Ulrich Tukur and Barbara Philipp as Kommissar Felix Murot and his assistant Magda Wächter, will air on 30th September."

As the new season of "Tatort" continues, fans can anticipate the return of their favorite detectives and the introduction of new cases and characters. The special episode on 30th September promises to be a highlight of the season.
