Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson - "Flight Risk" filming in record time
Hollywood star Mel Gibson (68) returns to cinema as a director for the first time since his Oscar triumph in 2017 with the film "Flight Risk" in October. Mark Wahlberg (53) stars as a pilot who must transport a dangerous criminal to court. Wahlberg has revealed that filming for the thriller was completed in record time.
"He knew exactly what he wanted"
Wahlberg explained to "People" magazine. Gibson's determination and experience were given as reasons by Wahlberg: "He knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it, but he was also open to suggestions," Wahlberg said. For the actor, used to longer shoots, filming 15 to 20 pages a day was something new. "The shoot lasted '20 or 22 days' in total."
Gibson and Wahlberg have worked together several times before, for example in "Father Stu" (2022) and "Daddy's Home 2" (2017) - but only as actors in front of the camera.
In "Flight Risk," besides Mark Wahlberg, you can see "Downton Abbey" star Michelle Dockery (42) and "That '70s Show" actor Topher Grace (45). The film is scheduled to come to German cinemas on October 18, 2024.
