Flick celebrates 'incredible' time at FC Barcelona

Hansi Flick is completely satisfied with his new job at FC Barcelona. The former German national team coach is completely enthusiastic about FC Barcelona. He has some wishes - and they could be quite expensive for Spanish football club.

Hansi Flick feels right at home at FC Barcelona. This became clear in his first major interview since taking over as coach of the Spanish traditional club a week ago. "It's incredible what we're experiencing here. Everyone shows us respect," the former German national team coach told the Spanish sports newspaper "Marca." He is enthusiastic about the club, the quality of the players, and the youth development, he added.

With Heiko Westermann and former Bayern Munich pro Thiago Alcantara as co-trainers, he has completed his team - at least off the pitch. The 59-year-old, who was particularly successful with FC Bayern Munich and won the treble there, still has wishes for the squad. "We need to sign a player who can win games," he told the newspaper.

Together with sporting director Deco, he wants to "raise the quality of the team and that's the most important thing." It is known that the highly indebted FC Barcelona has two ambitious and multi-million dollar goals on the transfer market: Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig and Nico Williams, who is currently under contract at Athletic Bilbao. Both played well for European champions Spain at the EM. However, it is uncertain how the highly indebted club will finance these signings.

Flick is particularly enthusiastic about the people he is now working with. "I have felt the passion of the people from the first day. The fans. Everyone," he said. Everyone who works at the club has this "passion for Barca and the commitment," the best for this club to give. That is also his demand of himself. "We want to give everything we have to take this club to the next level. We will give our best," he promised.

At the end of July, Flick, Westermann, and Co. will fly to the USA. There, they will face their first major challenge and test: tests against Premier League champion Manchester City, Champions League winner Real Madrid, and Italian vice champion AC Milan.

Hansi Flick expresses his excitement about working with FC Barcelona's youth development, crediting the club for showing him respect. He also mentions his desire to sign a player who can contribute to winning matches.

Despite having Heiko Westermann and Thiago Alcantara as co-trainers, Hansi Flick hints at further reinforcements, specifically naming Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig and Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao as potential transfer targets, although the club's finances may pose a challenge.
