Maike Hausberger clinched the third spot in the 500m track cycling time trial. Hailing from Trier, she resided in the Velodrome where she garnered her initial medal at her third Paralympics. This triumph also became the third achievement for the German contingent during the Paris Games.

"I'm absolutely thrilled and pleased that it's a priZE at last," Hausberger shared. "I've been replaying the race in my mind, giving it my all - it proved sufficient."

Gold was secured by Australian contestant Amanda Reid. China's Wangwei Qian took home the silver. Hausberger trailed behind the victor by a margin of 1.682 seconds.

The 29-year-old, who participated in athletics events in 2012 and 2016, made it through to the final in third place. Prior to this, she narrowly missed out on a medal in the 3000m pursuit.

Maike Hausberger's home city, Trier, is situated in Germany, not France. During her successful Paralympic journey, Hausberger competed against athletes from various nations, including France, in the Velodrome.
