- First three residents announced

On October 7th, the new season of the reality show "Promi Big Brother" will start. Sat.1 announced this on Tuesday (13th of August) at a press conference. "This has scheduling reasons," explains channel chief Marc Rasmus about the earlier start of the show than usual. "Depending on what's going on in the year, we look for the perfect time, and we've found it now."

In addition to the usual live shows on Sat.1 over a period of 14 days, there will again be an additional offer for all fans, just like last year. "Of course, we have the 24/7 live stream on Joyn again," explains Rasmus. "That's the full view, you won't miss a second. And we'll also see one or two live segments on Sat.1." The hosts will once again be Marlene Lufen (53) and Jochen Schopp (45), who will present the accompanying late-night show. Melissa Khalaj (35) and Jochen Bendel (56) will also return. Three residents for this year's season have already been confirmed.

A Veteran and a New Reality Face

One reality star who will be moving into the TV container is Mike Heiter (32), who is known for "Love Island", "Sommerhaus der Stars", "Kampf der Realitystars", the Dschungelcamp, or "Are You The One". Heiter says, "Whoever wants to call themselves a reality star, they have to have been on 'PBB'. It's a classic." He has been watching the show since he was a child and always wanted to be a part of it. As for who he would like to see as a housemate, he says, "There are many colleagues who also do reality TV, like Gigi [Birofio], that would be very funny." He also reveals that he doesn't want to meet Kim Virginia (29) from the Dschungelcamp. "I'm not really looking forward to seeing her. But I'll find a solution for the rest." He says he will miss the peace and quiet in the show.

Another resident of this year's "PBB" season is Mimi Fiedler (48), the former "Tatort" actress, who will be participating in her "first real reality format". She says, "I had a very tough year, I got divorced and it was difficult to get back on my feet. I didn't know if I was stable enough, but my family thought it would be good for me to take a break and just be myself for two weeks." Fiedler sees herself as the cleaning lady and the agony aunt in the TV container. She says she can listen well and enjoys doing so. She also reveals that she hasn't smoked or drunk alcohol in six years and is curious to see how the other residents react when they go through withdrawal.

When asked about her motivation to win the show, she says, "I've never won anything before, and I don't have a winner's gene. But maybe I should practice that a bit before October. But it should definitely be a woman who wins." She says she won't miss anything, except maybe her family, but they will be able to watch her.

**His wife Dilara Kruse moved into the "PBB" container last year and finished sixth, now Max Kruse wants to shake up the show. The former football national player and reality newcomer reveals: "I've been watching 'PBB' for many years, I could have imagined doing it a few years ago, but it didn't fit with my active career." Now he has the time and "of course, I want to be better than my wife." And what does she think about his upcoming move-in? "She's not always thrilled when I'm away for too long. But she's already said she'll watch for 24 hours and she'll only sleep when I sleep." He's looking forward to the show, "because I'm into the format, I love drama and I want to test my limits. Maybe I won't be as nice as I usually am."

"When someone snores and someone falls asleep before me, I freak out," says Kruse about the challenges in the container. He also thinks he'll struggle with not having a phone. Something his roommates might not like about him is that he's "really lazy" and "has no desire to do the dishes."

There will be "more than ten residents" this year, reveals Marc Rasmus. There won't be another sportsman, but another actor. The show will be produced again in Cologne-Bocklemünd, there won't be a live audience, explains the channel boss. But there will be a wildcard show again. "It was a huge success last year and we had a lot of fun with it."

Mike Heiter, known from shows like "Love Island" and "Kampf der Realitystars," expressed his excitement about joining "Promi Big Brother," stating, "Whoever wants to call themselves a reality star, they have to have been on 'PBB.' It's a classic."

During the press conference for the new season, channel chief Marc Rasmus announced Mike Heiter as one of the residents, joining a diverse group of celebrities set to participate.
