At the Formula-1 race track in Barcelona, Spain, the Grand Prix weekend is proceeding without significant issues, but back at the driver's camp, things took a turn for the worse. Reports suggest a fire erupted in the McLaren motorhome, prompting a call to the fire department.

The fire department swung into action, dealing with a substantial amount of smoke emanating from the McLaren motorhome. According to the team's official statement, the team house was evacuated in the morning due to a fire alarm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the McLaren side. Further details about the incident remained undisclosed.

Eyewitnesses originally described a strong smoke development and an unpleasant smell. Firefighters wearing protective masks entered the motorhome to tackle the situation. For hours, the area around the McLaren headquarters, typically a hub of team members, guests, and drivers, was cordoned off. The police were also present to maintain order.

Shortly before the final training session at 12:30 pm, an ambulance departed from the scene. Water puddles from the fire hose were visible in front of the abandoned McLaren motorhome.

Mario Isola, head of Pirelli Motorsport, was on hand to lend a helping hand. A part-time paramedic and ambulance driver in his hometown Milan for the "Croce Viola" (Violette Croce), Isola entered the McLaren motorhome with a fire extinguisher. Despite not witnessing any actual fire, he described a lot of smoke. His priority, he said, was to help.

Interestingly, the Pirelli motorhome is stationed right next to the McLaren headquarters in the driver's camp. Consequently, the Pirelli motorhome had to be temporarily evacuated as well. fortunate for the McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, they seemed to be unaffected by the chaos and were able to participate in the race without any hiccups.
