Prior to the launch of the fourth season, it was disclosed that the Prime Video show "The Boys" will get a fifth season. Nonetheless, this would be the last season, as confirmed by showrunner Eric Kripke (50) on the messaging service X.

Eric Kripke: "The fifth season will mark the end"

"During the debut week of the fourth season of 'The Boys,' it's time to reveal some news: Season five will be the concluding season," Kripke posts. He didn't find this revelation to be particularly shocking, as he had always intended the series to consist of five seasons. However, he avoided discussing it prior to receiving final approval.

Kripke seems excited to wrap up the story in a grand and gruesome manner. He urges fans to watch the upcoming episodes, which are set to premiere soon, "as the conclusion is already underway." To support his statement, the showrunner shared what appears to be the finale page of the script for the fourth season's eighth episode. Despite all details being obscured, the last line is rather explicit: "We'll see you for the last season, Mom!"

In the middle of May, it was made known that Amazon's streaming platform had renewed "The Boys" for a fifth season. The new installments of this violent and darkly humorous superhero series will be accessible in Germany from June 13 on Prime Video. The cast members include Antony Starr (48), Karl Urban (52), Jack Quaid (32), Erin Moriarty (29), Jessie T. Usher (32), and "The Walking Dead" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (58).
