FCB president Herber Hainer warns professional Mazraoui
Following Noussair Mazraoui's controversial pro-Palestinian social media post, Bayern President Herbert Hainer has addressed words of warning to the professional footballer. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen makes it clear that the record champions have an immovable position.
Bayern Munich's Moroccan international footballer Noussair Mazraoui must not allow himself any more pro-Palestinian statements. Club president Herbert Hainer made it clear at the annual general meeting of the German record champions: "It is clear to all of us: something like this must not happen again. In general, anti-Semitism has no place in our world!"
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen later reiterated Hainer's position: "If there is any misconduct in the future, there will also be appropriate sanctions!" FC Bayern, the CEO emphasized, stands "as a club on Israel's side".
Among other things, Mazraoui had shared a post on Instagram stating that the "oppressed brothers in Palestine" should "achieve victory" in the war with Israel. After a "detailed and clarifying conversation", FC Bayern refrained from imposing any consequences on the Moroccan and emphasized in a statement that Mazraoui condemned "any kind of terrorism and any terrorist organization". The Central Council of Jews, among others, had criticized the fact that there had been no consequences for the Moroccan.
CEO Dreesen also praises Mazraoui
Hainer said that FC Bayern had "dealt with this complex issue as responsibly as possible" following Mazraoui's post. He also emphasized in general: "We stand for open cooperation (...), right-wing extremism does not fit into the world view of FC Bayern Munich."
Dreesen also praised Mazraoui, saying that he had "expressed very clearly and credibly that he does not harbour any anti-Semitic, anti-Israel or even terror-harmonizing ideas. He also expressed his offer of talks with the Jewish community right from the start".
- Despite the controversy surrounding his pro-Palestinian statements, Noussair Mazraoui, a player for FC Bayern Munich, expressed his opposition to any form of terrorism and terrorist organizations, including Hamas.
- In light of the Israel-Gaza Strip conflict, it's important to note that FC Bayern Munich, as a club, publicly supports Israel.
- Soccer player Noussair Mazraoui's social media post, which contained comments about the Palestine-Israel war, led to criticism from various quarters, including the Central Council of Jews, due to perceived anti-Semitic sentiments.
