FC Bayern set to pull off a shocking move by signing VfB standout player.
Bayern Munich is making moves to bolster their defensive line. Along with Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, they're also considering a defender from VfB Stuttgart. Hiroki Ito may be leaving the vice-champion for a pre-determined release clause of 30 million euros.
It seems Bayern Munich is not only actively pursuing the signing of national player Jonathan Tah but also eying another transfer for central defense. According to "Bild," "Kicker," and Sky, the German champions are close to snatching the 25-year-old Japanese Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart. These sources cite reliable information regarding this potential transfer.
If this deal goes through, the Bayern would take advantage of an exit clause in Ito's contract worth 30 million euros. This would be a major hit for Stuttgart, as they would lose a key player, but a profitable one. Ito initially joined Stuttgart on a low loan fee in 2022, and they later signed him permanently for around 600,000 euros.
This season, he was a standout performer and made a significant contribution to Stuttgart's second-place finish in the Bundesliga and their qualification for the Champions League. Tottenham Hotspur, an English Premier League club, is also rumored to have shown interest in Ito, but they can't match the caliber of the top teams next season.
There's no escape clause in Tah's contract with Bayer Leverkusen, but word on the street is that he's agreed to a five-year contract with Bayern and has informed his current club of his intention to leave. His deal with Bayer ends in 2025. The previous Bundesliga season saw Bayern finished in third place, beaten by Leverkusen and Stuttgart.
Rumors are also circulating about Bayern's possible signing of the Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha from Fulham FC.
