Bayern Munich is making moves to improve their defense. In addition to Jonathan Tah, who's joining from Bayer Leverkusen, they're eyeing a defender from VfB Stuttgart - Hiroki Ito. Reports claim that Ito can leave for a pre-determined fee of €30 million.

Bayern isn't just focusing on Jonathan Tah's recruitment; they're also potentially signing another center-back, potentially from a rival club. According to "Bild," "Kicker," and Sky, who all cite the same source, the German record champions could be close to getting Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart.

Ito's exit could be beneficial for both Bayern and Stuttgart. Bayern could pocket a nice amount due to an exit clause in Ito's contract worth €30 million. For Stuttgart, it'd be a significant sporting loss, but a profitable business: They initially got Ito for a low loan fee in 2022, and then signed him permanently for around €600,000.

Ito was one of the top performers this season, playing a key role in Stuttgart's second-place finish in the Bundesliga and their qualification for the Champions League. While English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with Ito, they might not be able to compete with Bayern next season.

Meanwhile, Tah doesn't have an exit clause at Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern is said to have already reached an agreement with him for a five-year contract. He's informed his current club of his intention to leave. Tah's contract with Bayer runs until 2025. In the previous Bundesliga season, Bayern finished third, losing to Leverkusen and Stuttgart.

Another possible acquisition for Bayern is the Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha from Fulham. Rumors suggest that they're working on his recruitment as well.
