FC Bayern entertaining idea of Tuchel as potential coach replacement.

In February, FC Bayern Munich made a decision to replace head coach Thomas Tuchel during the upcoming summer season. However, since then, they have received multiple rejections, leading them to ponder the possibility of keeping Tuchel could be a viable option. There are also advocates for this decision.

Tuchel had seemingly appeased his most prominent critic, Uli Hoeneß, who is the president of honorary. When questioned about Tuchel's youthful approach in a game against VFL Wolfsburg, which featured four young players on the field, Thomas Tuchel replied, "I hope so." But was this enough for the club to reconsider their initial decision?

The supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich, the most successful German soccer team, recently met with Hoeneß as per schedule and discussed their most critical and pressing personnel issue. As per Bild, Tuchel, who was set to leave after the in-season struggle against Hoffenheim, has now become a subject of interest again. Sky also noted this possibility, asserting that Tuchel was "open" to dialogue.

Key players like captain Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller are reportedly in support of Tuchel remaining in his position. Though he had been responsible for their first title-less season since 2012 and felt that Hoeneß had violated his coaching honor, Tuchel had managed to lead his team to the Champions League finals with a severely weakened roster. Many within the club did not blame him for the squad's defeat of a reunion match against Dortmund.

Max Eberl, the sporting director, and Christoph Freund, the director, have been tirelessly seeking a new coach for over three months. Top contenders like Xabi Alonso, currently with Bayer Leverkusen, national coach Julian Nagelsmann, and Rangnick from Austria, have all rejected the Munich club. There are rumors of Oliver Glasner from Frankfurt being considered for the position, now that Crystal Palace is willing to part ways. Can Tuchel be the new coach?

"The deal is done," but is it really done?

Tuchel was yet to be dismissed. Upon defeating Wolfsburg, he opted against bidding farewell to the fans. He claimed he did not want to be the focus of attention. In Madrid, before the second leg, Tuchel mentioned that it was "very, very, very unlikely" he would be coaching Bayern next season. At the same time, he acknowledged that nothing was entirely impossible. The top officials had stated their intentions of parting ways with Tuchel. Nevertheless, they had also signed a formal agreement.

Recent statements from the Bayern leaders seem to undermine this agreement. Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen made it clear that they would "go their separate ways" right after the first Madrid match on April 30. Two days later, Freund stated that there was "no chance" of a shared future. President Herbert Hainer also emphasized that the "agreement stands."

However, due to shifts in plans, Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton and Hove Albion remains a potential candidate for the Bayern Munich head coach position. Previously, he was seen as an unlikely option. How does this compare to the current situation surrounding Tuchel?
