Bundesliga - FC Bayern against Union Berlin will be made up at the end of January

The canceled Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Union Berlin will be rescheduled for next year.

As announced by the German Football League and the clubs, the matchday 13 fixture will take place on January 24, 2024 (8:30 p.m./Sky) and therefore on a Wednesday. The match had been canceled last weekend due to wintry weather conditions and the associated safety risks.

After the short Christmas break, the season will resume on January 12 with Bayern 's home match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Coach Thomas Tuchel had recently stated that the team might use the time afterwards for a short training camp. That would be possible in view of the scheduling of the Union game. Bayern do not kick off the second half of the season until January 21 at home against Werder Bremen.

The rescheduled Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Union Berlin is highly anticipated in Bavaria and Berlin. The game will provide a challenging test for Thomas Tuchel's team, as Union Berlin has been performing well in the league.

Despite the wintry weather, the decision to postpone the match was necessary to ensure the safety of the players and fans. The Football League (DFL) and both clubs agreed on January 24, 2024, as the new date for the fixture.

This means that FC Bayern will play two home matches in a row at the Allianz Arena, first against Hoffenheim and then against Union Berlin. While Bayern's squad may benefit from a short training camp after the Hoffenheim game, they must remain focused, given the competitive nature of the Bundesliga.

The upcoming game against Union Berlin holds significant importance for FC Bayern as they strive to maintain their position at the top of the German soccer league. With the keenly anticipated Clásico against Barcelona following in mid-February, the Bundesliga will certainly keep fans on the edge of their seats.
