Queens of Real Life - Fascinating tidbits on the latest reality program

RTL+ is bringing a new reality show to the table: "Reality Queens - Strolling through the Jungle" premieres on June 6th (9 episodes, with a new episode airing every week on RTL+). This show features 12 famous women embarking on a jungle adventure. The streaming service pledges lots of flirting, fighting, and screaming.

The Premise

The contestants, who are primarily known from reality TV, travel to Suriname on the northeastern coast of South America. Here, they trek through the rainforest, live under the open sky, and forgo luxury. The goal is to win a prize of up to 50,000 euros, which only the winner crowned the "Reality Queen" can claim. By participating in various challenges, the celebrity women can contribute to their team's treasury and secure a spot in the luxury camp. The losers have to settle for the loser camp.

"Reality Queens of the Jungle" already airs in the Netherlands, Spain, or Finland. Similar formats have existed in Germany: in 2013, RTL aired "Wild Girls - In High Heels Through Africa," featuring Sarah Knappik (37) and Kader Loth (51). During the same year, ProSieben broadcasted "Reality Queens on Safari" featuring Micaela Schäfer (40) and Tessa Bergmeier (34).

The Contestants and the Host

"Reality Queens - Strolling through the Jungle" features a "superb cast filled with eccentrics, loudmouths, and tough characters," promises jungle king Filip Pavlovic (29), who will be presenting this show. He won "I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!" in 2022 and says, "I can easily connect with the candidates and prompt authentic interactions since I've experienced what it's like to live under extreme conditions and be filmed by cameras." It's a privilege for me to serve as a moderator in such an innovative and engaging program."

The jungle expedition will include the following TV celebrities: "DSDS" contestant Claudia Haas (32), "Prominent getrennt" participant Sandra Sicora (32), "Summer House of the Stars" residents Vanessa Nwattu (24) and Ricarda Raatz (31), "Temptation Island" star Marlisa Rudzio (34), "GNTM" model Theresia Fischer (32), singer Jasmin Herren (45), "Bachelor in Paradise" star Carina Spack (27), and "Promi Big Brother" residents Patricia Blanco (53) and Emmy Russ (25). Furthermore, a mother-daughter duo will partake in this reality show for the first time: Dschungelcamp participant Danni Büchner (46) and her daughter and "Forsthaus Rampensau" contestant Joelina (25).

"The worst bit would be if I brawl with my daughter Joelina," says Danni Büchner in a pre-RTL interview. "At home, we sometimes get on each other's nerves. And then we're in such an extreme situation. The worst part would be if we nominate each other at the end (laughs)." Her daughter adds: "It's my first reality program where I join as an independent individual. At 'Rampensau,' I was largely dependent on my teammate, who was also my sister, and we had to act as a team. Now it's different with Mom. If she gets on my nerves, then I'll nominate her (laughs)." (Joelina's inclusion in the original text was omitted, but has been added here for context.)

The show "Reality Queens - Strolling through the Jungle" will premiere on RTL+ on June 6th.
