Canadian singer Shawn Mendes (25) isn't keeping his fans waiting any longer. On Instagram, he's shared new details about his upcoming fifth studio album. Mendes had to cancel his entire world tour in July 2022 due to mental health issues and took some time off for himself. "Music can truly be medicine," he says in his emotional post.

Two years ago, he felt like he had "no idea who I was. Last year, I couldn't go into a studio without completely panicking," the musician recalls. "Being here now, with twelve beautiful finished songs, feels like a gift." He thanks God for his friends and family. "Life can be brutal, but having a small group of people you deeply trust to go through it with you makes it so much better. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last few years, let alone made an album without you," Mendes writes, naming some of his close ones.

To his fans, the singer says: "And to you, who have supported me so incredibly and been so patient and loving, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really hope you love this album. I do. I hope it gives you a feeling of warmth and connection, just like it does for me."

New Music on His Birthday

The album "Shawn" will be released on October 18, according to Mendes. Before that, there will be two singles, "Why Why Why" and "Isn't That Enough," which the Canadian will release on his birthday, August 8. In his Instagram post, he gives a sneak peek of "Isn't That Enough" with a black-and-white music video. He also published the tracklist for the album in another post.

After announcing the tour cancellation in summer 2022, Mendes returned to Instagram in March 2024 with good news, revealing he was working on a new album. His last album, "Wonder," was released in 2020.

Mendes is known not only for hits like "Treat You Better" or "Stitches" but also for his past relationship with singer and actress Camila Cabello (27). They were considered the dream couple of the pop world from 2019 to 2021 until their split. In April 2023, they briefly reunited, but it didn't last long. Most recently, the ex-couple was spotted together at the Copa América football final in Miami Gardens, Florida in mid-July 2024.

Following his mental health break and time off, Shawn Mendes expressed his gratitude for his return to music, stating, "Being here now, with twelve beautiful finished songs, feels like a gift." Later, on his birthday, he announced his comeback to the world with two upcoming singles and his fifth studio album titled "Shawn," expressing hope that it would provide warmth and connection to his fans.
