Fan hospitalized after being shot by Füllkrug in Germany

Disastrous Beginning for a German Football Fan: A Fan's Nightmare at Home-EM: While warming up, a fan from Bremerhaven gets hit by a ball, injuring his hand and missing the game in the stadium. But this unfortunate incident ends on a positive note for him.

Unfortunate Incident: The national striker Niclas Füllkrug from the German Football team mistakenly sends a fan to the hospital before the EM opening game against Scotland. According to a report in "Bild" newspaper, the man had been sitting in the first row behind the German goal during warm-up, when a shoot by Borussia Dortmund attacker hit his left hand.

"As I sang the national anthem on the stretcher, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry: My dream of watching the opening game had to be sadly abandoned. But when will I ever get my hand broken by Füllkrug", the 43-year-old shared his experience. He followed the sensational 5:1 victory of the DFB team in the hospital via his cell phone.

He was discharged from the hospital shortly before 1 am. Luckily, surgery wasn't required, so his attendance at the second German group game against Hungary in Stuttgart on Wednesday (18 Uhr/ARD, Magenta TV and live on ntv.de) was not prevented.

According to "Bild" reports, the German Football Association (DFB) is aware of the unfortunate accident. Füllkrug, who displayed his shooting skills with his goal for the between-time 4:0 against the Scots, regrets the mishap. He plans to make amends to the victim of his misfired shot by gifting a jersey and a greeting package.

During the game, Füllkrug proved to be more accurate: Just a few minutes after his substitution, the striker scored a high-speed goal into the Scottish goal for the German team.
