Fan files lawsuit against Madonna for alleged adult performance

Imagine attending a Madonna concert - you'd likely know what to expect. This rock star is famously fond of freedom and leather. But one specific performance left someone pretty rattled. He went ahead and filed a lawsuit against the iconic singer.

During Madonna's "The Celebration Tour," she experienced immense success. However, more legal issues arose for the pop diva. One attendee at her LA show on March 7 decided to sue Madonna. "The Blast" shared six points in this individual's lawsuit: violation of a written commitment, deceptive misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, misleading advertising, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and unfair competition.

This gentleman was highly displeased for a variety of reasons. He mentioned being exposed to sexually explicit content without a heads-up. There were naked dancers showing off on stage simulating adult acts. He felt like he was witnessing a porn film, according to his lawsuit.

It wasn't just a mental discomfort for the fan; he also complained about the high temperature in the hall. These fans endured high heat allegedly due to the cranked-up air conditioning. Madonna reportedly urged the crowd to undress due to the heat.

Contract breach from Madonna's delay

Madonna was accused of breaching her contract with her late start time, asserted the lawsuit. Contrary to the promised start time of 8:30 p.m., the show didn't commence until 10 p.m. When Madonna finally took center stage, she merely lip-synced, instead of performing live. The complaint argued, "Forcing fans to wait in hot, uncomfortable arenas while enduring pornography without warning demonstrates Madonna's unbridled disrespect for her audience."

This particular fan wasn't the first to sue Madonna about her notorious punctuality during "The Celebration Tour." On December 13, 2023, the singer arrived on stage at 10:30 p.m., two hours past the scheduled starting time. Two fanatics took legal action against her. They couldn't easily get home at that hour.

The venue's organizers argued no specific Madonna appearance time was ever promised. "No typical concert-goer - and especially no Madonna devotee - would anticipate the main act of a large concert arena to take the stage at the advertised time," they stated. They justified the delay as caused by technical difficulties.

Even during her 2019 "Madame X" tour, a fan sued Madonna for her notoriety in running late, but they later withdrew the complaint. Nevertheless, Madonna's "Celebration Tour" came to a close, setting a record - as the first woman, she wrapped up six tours with an income of more than $100 million each.
