Famous golfer avoids court proceedings following detention.

The renowned golfer, Scottie Scheffler, is claimed to have gone against the instructions of law enforcement officials and caused harm to them with his vehicle. This resulted in a brief arrest for the American golf champion. However, there are no charges being filed against him as it turns out to be a mere confusion in the courts.

AFP, a news agency, reports that the public prosecutor in Jefferson County suggested that all charges relating to the incident on May 17 be dropped, which the judge consented to.

Prosecutor Mike O'Connell informed ESPN that Scheffler's statement of it being a "great misunderstanding" aligns with the evidence presented in court. His actions didn't meet the criteria for a crime. The 27-year-old Scheffler from Texas was detained before the second round of the PGA Championship, after reportedly attempting to navigate his car around a police roadblock at the golf club in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to a police report, Scheffler refused to obey the order to halt, increased his speed, and supposedly ran over a police officer, dragging him on the ground. The officer was taken to the hospital with bruises and swelling. However, Scheffler's lawyer asserted that the police officer was not dragged by Scheffler's car.

Scheffler shared on Instagram following the court's verdict that he wanted to move past this event. "I hold no animosity toward the police officer," he wrote. "They have a challenging job, and I hold them in high esteem. This was a horrendous misunderstanding in a chaotic situation," Scheffler added.

Immediately after his arrest, Scheffler stated that he was completely shocked while being taken to the police station and his entire body trembled. "During the journey, I practiced some stretches. It was a first for me," he recounted. "I simply sat there and waited, started my training right away. I sensed there was still a possibility I could play golf again." A few hours later, Scheffler was back at the Valhalla Golf Club, where he eventually finished in eighth place.
