Prince William - Family member no longer on payroll

Recently, a new balance sheet of the Royal Family was made public, which, among other things, reveals the profits from the estates of King Charles III. (75) and his sons. A closer look at the finances, according to "The Telegraph," also shows that Queen Camilla's (77) younger sister Annabel Elliot (75) is no longer on Prince William's (42) payroll. The interior designer and antiquities dealer had, in the past, been commissioned to design and modernize the royal residences in the Duchy of Cornwall.

Contract supposedly expired

A payment for her actual services is no longer listed in the balance sheet for the years 2023/24. Prince William (42), as Duke of Cornwall, no longer employs Camilla's sister, Annabel Elliot, although this does not necessarily mean a return to her work. According to the "Daily Mail," Elliot's contract was time-limited and has now simply expired. The interior designer had taken over the position after the marriage of Charles and Camilla in 2005, a move that was not without controversy, as reported by the "Daily Mail."

"William dismissing the Queen's sister, who has held this position for two decades and is 75 years old, means it will be easier for him to pursue a new approach, and the King and Queen will surely understand," Royal Expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the media. Among William's priorities are now the establishment of social housing or environmentally conscious building.

From the balance report, it appears that Prince William receives 23.6 million pounds (28 Mio. Euro) from the Duchy of Cornwall. As heir to the throne, he inherited the Duchy, along with its land and real estate holdings, from his father when he became King in 2022. The income from this covers the costs for his public duties and private life, as well as those of his wife, Princess Catherine (42), and their three children.

Annabel Elliot, the interior designer and antiquities dealer, previously worked on modernizing royal residences in Cornwall, under the commission of Prince William. This contract, as mentioned by the Daily Mail, had a time-limited nature and has now expired, leading to her removal from Prince William's payroll.

Despite Annabel Elliot's departure, the balance sheet reveals that Prince William continues to receive a substantial income of 23.6 million pounds from the Duchy of Cornwall. As the heir to the throne, this inheritance from his father includes land and real estate holdings, providing funds for his public duties, private life, and that of his family.

The Daily Mail also reported that the decision for Annabel Elliot to no longer be employed by Prince William could potentially open up opportunities for a new approach in his priorities. These now include the establishment of social housing and environmentally conscious building.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla, following King Charles' ascension to the throne in 2022, oversee the profits from the estates of the royal family, as stated in the recently released balance sheet.
