"Extremely frustrating evening": BVB humiliation at an inopportune time

Even before the end of the humiliating match, thousands of Dortmund fans took flight. Bayern's demonstration of power in the one-sided Bundesliga summit caused disillusionment in the stands - and dispelled the good mood of recent weeks.

Like the black-and-yellow fans, Edin Terzic was also very disappointed after the 4-0 (0-2) defeat to the Munich side. "This is an extremely frustrating evening. Let's be honest: we were the worse team in all areas," admitted the soccer coach candidly.

Even Thomas Tuchel's consoling gesture could not dispel the bitterness. When the Bayern coach put his arm around his shoulder in a fatherly manner on the way to the obligatory press conference, Terzic's expression remained frozen. "Bayern usually put in their best performance of the season, especially against us. For them, it's a game that's about more than just three points," complained the 41-year-old, alluding to Borussia's disastrous record of eleven games without a win against the record champions.

No duel at eye level

This time, too, there was no sign of the duel at eye level that had been announced before the match. That also prompted the professional players to make it clear: "It hurts when you go home with such a defeat," commented former Munich player Marcel Sabitzer on the defeat, which began with early goals from Dayot Upamecano (4) and Harry Kane (9). National player Julian Brandt also made no secret of his disappointment: "If you want to have possession and create chances against Bayern, you need to have a bit of courage."

With their first defeat of the Bundesliga season, Borussia have fallen far behind in the title race, now seven points behind leaders Leverkusen and five points behind Bayern. The defeat also came at an inopportune time. After all, important matches are still to come this week in the Champions League against Newcastle United (Tuesday) and in the league against neighbors VfB Stuttgart (Saturday). Much will depend on whether Terzic can get his professionals back on track in the short time available. A ruthless analysis should help them to regain their former strength: "Today we are disappointed, tomorrow we will be honest," announced the coach.

Despite all the frustration, Terzic is confident that this defeat will not leave any lasting damage: "Two things make us confident. It hasn't been long since we've done better. And secondly, that we have shown as a group that we can draw the right conclusions from such disappointing results and find solutions to do better again in a short space of time."

Borussia Dortmund's struggle against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga continued, with the record champions decisively winning 4-0. Even Borussia's coach, Edin Terzic, acknowledged that Dortmund was outperformed by Bayern in all aspects of the game. Despite this setback, Terzic remains optimistic, stating that the team will analyze their mistakes and work towards improvement.

In the midst of this disappointment, the importance of Borussia's upcoming matches, including the Champions League game against Newcastle United and the Bundesliga fixture against VfB Stuttgart, cannot be understated. Terzic emphasized that the team needs to regain their form quickly to stay competitive in the title race.
