The Spanish monarchy - Expert on monarchy suggests: King Felipe's contentment with Letizia was not as great as it was with her predecessor.

A book titled "Letizia's Silence" by Jaime Penafiel has revealed scandalous details about the Spanish royal family after 20 years of marriage. The elderly author unveils wild extramarital stories about the royal couple and also accuses the king of saying that his bride was not his true love, but his predecessor's.

Back in the 90s till December 2001, the Norwegian Eva Sannum had a close relationship with the then Spanish prince, later declared Crown Prince. And in 2001, she accompanied Felipe of Spain to the wedding of Norway's Crown Prince couple Haakon and Mette-Marit, although she wasn't engaged or married to the prince. Now she's satisfied, as she expressed in an interview with the Norwegian media "Afterposten" in 2021, "I'm glad I didn't become queen."

Letizia wasn't Philip's initial choice

However, it's still uncertain if King Philip is content with this. Author Penafiel asserts that the king would've been happier with Eva. The Spanish news site "El Nacional de Catalunya" provides further information: "Eva Sannum's feelings for Felipe VI were rather intense. They were planning to marry. In fact, they were about to announce their engagement. But the relationship ended because of the pressure from the family and the media." There were whispers that the royal family wasn't keen on the Crown Prince's love for Eva Sannum, who was working as a writer and also modeled underwear part-time, and the separation occurred due to pressure from family and media.

Following the separation from the prince, Sannum succeeded in building up a thriving career, becoming a Creative Director and establishing her own communications agency in 2021. She then united in marriage with an ad executive and had two children.

Prince Felipe met Letizia, reportedly, six months after his breakup with Sannum. They initially crossed paths at a dinner arranged by Spanish news anchor Pedro Erquicia on October 17, 2002. Letizia Ortiz, a well-known TV journalist back then, quickly caught his attention. The pair made their relationship official a year after their first meeting and tied the knot in 2004.
