A former professional dancer, Christian Bärens, who once shimmied with Sylvie Meis (46) in RTL's dance show back in 2010, has sadly departed from this world at the age of 46. His dear friend, Irena Canova, spread the unfortunate news via the fundraising platform "gofundme," where the family of the late Bärens seeks financial aid for his burial.

RTL has also conveyed their condolences through Instagram. "Though he hadn't worked with us for long on 'Let's Dance,' his untimely demise left us shaken. We're sending our thoughts to his loved ones," said the broadcaster.
Christian Bärens called the United States his home, where he taught Latin American ballroom dancing like a true pro. As per "gofundme," he was airlifted to a hospital in Brooklyn on April 26 and placed on a cardiac intensive care unit. "After a two-week struggle, he succumbed to his condition," the post reads.
Family seeks donations for funeral costs
Given his German roots, Bärens will be buried in Germany. They have launched a fundraising campaign for the funeral expenses, aiming to collect $10,000 from well-wishers. The platform states, "As of May 31, 13:00, $7,425 has been gathered."
In 2010, Christian Bärens was the man who whipped up Sylvie Meis's dancing skills on "Let's Dance." However, he had to part ways with the show due to a bad back and was soon replaced by Christian Polanc (46). Meis secured the second position in that season's competition.
