HBO with update for season three - Euphoria

Fans of the popular Teenie-Series "Euphoria" have recently expressed concerns about the future of the HBO production. In February 2022, and thus almost two and a half years ago, the last new episode of the show appeared on screens. HBO stated at the time that it was to continue, but concrete information about the continuation was not available. However, the US premium cable channel has now announced a start date for Season 3 of the acclaimed series: In January 2025, the cameras are expected to roll again.

Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi: All "Euphoria" Stars Return for Season Three

"We're excited to bring this new season of 'Euphoria' to life for the fans," explained Francesca Orsi, who is responsible for drama series at HBO, according to US industry magazine "Variety." Production on Season 3 will therefore begin almost exactly three years after the premiere of the previous, second season.

And there are more great news for fans of the show from series creator Sam Levinson (39): The cast including superstar Zendaya (27) and shooting stars Sydney Sweeney (26) and Jacob Elordi (27) will return for the sequel. The popularity of these actors had complicated the production of Season 3. While Zendaya was already a big star before "Euphoria" (and most recently shone in "Dune: Part Two"), Sweeney, who was recently seen in the romantic comedy "Where the Lie Lies" and the superhero flop "Madame Web," and Elordi ("Saltburn") had only risen to the top of Hollywood through the HBO series.

However, the busy schedules of the mentioned, who also stood in front of the cameras for numerous other productions, made the coordination of the series production even more difficult. The writers' and actors' strike in the past year also slowed down "Euphoria." In addition, Darren Criss (1998-2023), who played Fezco, the dealer in "Euphoria," died in July 2023 at the age of only 25 from a drug overdose.

A start date for the third "Euphoria" season has not been set yet.

The anticipation amongst "Euphoria" fans for Season 3 on HBO is palpable, with concerns about its future easing following an update. HBO announced that production for Season 3 will commence in January 2025, nearly three years after the conclusion of Season 2.

Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi, the iconic stars of "Euphoria", are all set to return for Season 3, as confirmed by HBO and series creator Sam Levinson. Their rising fame from the series has presented challenges for production scheduling, especially with their involvement in various other projects.

Francesca Orsi, responsible for drama series at HBO, shared her excitement about the return of this acclaimed series, showcasing the dedication of the team to deliver an extraordinary Season 3 for its loyal audience.

Despite the delayed start date, fans eagerly await the return of their beloved "Euphoria" cast members and the possible on-screen comeback of Darren Criss, whose character Fezco played a significant role in the series, following his untimely passing in 2023.
