First Emmy nomination for Ryan Gosling - Emma Stone is empty-handed

On July 17, the Nominations for the 76th Emmy-Awards were announced. As every year, there were some surprises, stars who were snubbed, and first-time nominees. For instance, "Barbie" leading actor Ryan Gosling (43) can now look forward to his first Emmy-Nomination ever - for his role as host of an episode of the long-running Sketch-Show "Saturday Night Live".

Selena Gomez celebrates first Emmy-Nomination as Actress

Singer and actress Selena Gomez (31) has been successful with the popular Comedy-Series "Only Murders in the Building" since 2021. However, she had only been nominated twice before as an executive producer for her involvement in the Hulu-Show. Now, there's recognition for her acting in the entertaining Murder-Mystery-Series. Gomez is nominated as "Best Actress in a Comedy Series" - her very first Emmy-Nomination in an acting category.

Jon Hamm has two chances to win

Former "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm (53) is up for a double nomination. His performance in "The Morning Show" on Apple TV+ earned him a nomination as "Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series". For the fifth season of the anthology-series "Fargo", Hamm is nominated as "Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series".

Emma Stone, Kate Winslet and Nicole Kidman come up empty-handed

Oscar-winner Emma Stone (35) didn't fare well. Her performance in the Showtime-Series "The Curse" didn't impress the Emmy-Voters. The "Poor Things" star joined Oscar-winner Kate Winslet (48), who failed to win over the Emmy-Voters with her work in the HBO-Production "The Regime". Nicole Kidman (57) also didn't receive a nomination for the series "Expats".

Lily Gladstone and Kali Reis as first indigenous women in an acting category nominated

Lily Gladstone (37) had a huge success as an actress with Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" - including an Oscar-Nomination as "Best Actress". Now, she received an Emmy-Nomination as "Best Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series" for the Hulu-Show "Under the Bridge".

Likewise, indigenous actress Kali Reis (37) was nominated in the same category for her performance alongside Oscar-winner Jodie Foster (61) in the fourth season of the anthology-series "True Detective: Night Country" from HBO. Gladstone and Reis are the first indigenous women to be nominated in an acting category at the Emmys.
