Swiss comedian and actor Emil Steinberger (91) will be honored at the Zurich Film Festival for his lifetime achievement. He has been delighting audiences for generations with his humor and language, the organizers said. Steinberger continues to perform at events.

Steinberger plans to personally accept the "Golden Eye" award in October and present the documentary "Typically Emil - about letting go and starting anew" by director Phil Meyer. The film festival will take place from October 3rd to 13th.

Steinberger has mastered the art of affectionately exaggerating Swiss characteristics with a twinkle in his eye, according to the festival.

Steinberger was successful with television programs in Germany in the 70s and later with smaller stage programs. In his sketches, he often played the slightly overwhelmed bureaucrat. Today, he lives in Basel with his German wife Niccel, who is also an artist.

Steinberger's "Golden Eye" award is a testament to his lifetime of dedication and passion for his Life's work in comedy and entertainment. The festival organizers acknowledge that Steinberger's comedic acts, filled with affectionate exaggerations, form a significant part of Swiss culture.
