Thriller on TV - Ekki is in distress in "Wilsberg"

This "Wilsberg" crime series episode from 2020, which the ZDF sends as a rerun against the European Football Championship on RTL on Saturdays at 8:15 PM on Zweites, is called "Fatherly Joys" and features Ekki Talkoter instead of Wilsberg. It's not the classic crime fans of the series about the bumbling book dealer from Münster are used to.

The 68th episode of the Saturday crime series, which the ZDF sends out against the European Football Championship on RTL as a rerun, is titled "Fatherly Joys" and can be seen on Zweites at 8:15 PM on Saturdays. A delightful comedy in every sense. This is also due to the dialogues between Private Detective Wilsberg, Commissioner Springer (Rita Russek), and Financier Ekki, who entertain each other with verbal jabs.

In this episode, Ekki, a friend of Wilsberg, is presented with his six-year-old daughter by an old flame. Ekki has doubts, but he takes on the challenge - actor Oliver Korittke shines in this role.

Screenwriter Markus Altmeyer and director Martin Enlen weave a web of failed careers in the finance office, a ruthless lawyer who boxes fathers out of maintenance lawsuits in court, affairs, and international women's rights. There are just too many storylines.

Although no tension builds up, as it takes over 30 minutes for the first crime to hint at itself. And when the woman (Maja Bothe) of the supposed kidnap victim (Michael Rotschopf) hires Wilsberg as a private detective without emotion, it becomes clear to the last viewer where the story is going.

But in the end, there is still a surprise in the resolution - and around Ekki's many ex-relationships. "Fatherly Joys" lives off the dialogues and is therefore not suspenseful but entertaining. "Women are indeed the better people - Overbeck, do you really believe that?" Commissioner Springer asks her subordinate. The grumpy police officer (Roland Jankowsky) had advised a feminist women's self-defense group in his free time.

And in the end, Overbeck, who applies for the position of Equal Opportunities Officer in the Münster Police Presidium in this episode, has to clean up the desk of his superiors.
