During a live performance, Taylor Momsen was bitten by a bat.

Taylor Momsen, ex-"Gossip Girl" star and musician, experienced quite an eventful concert in Spain recently, as she encountered a small winged friend who left a few bite marks on her thigh. Momsen belongs to the rock band The Pretty Reckless, which was performing when the incident occurred.

During the course of the show, a bat clung onto Taylor's leg, prompting her to ask for assistance from crew members who quickly rushed onto the stage. In a video posted on Instagram, the bat is seen flying away shortly after being located on Momsen's leg. Another video depicted her at a hospital receiving injections in her leg.

Using her witty sense of humor, Taylor teased the crowd by suggesting she may be a witch, as the incident took place while she was performing the song "Witches Burn." She shared with the audience that she was unaware of the bat's presence until the crowd continuously screamed and pointed.

Taylor later wrote on Instagram that it was indeed a cute bat, but it did draw blood from her leg. She added that she will be receiving rabies shots for two weeks and also acknowledged the hospital staff who jokingly dubbed her as #batgirl when they saw her picture on the local news that morning.

CNN attempted to contact Momsen's agent for an update on her recovery status.

In another recording shared by Momsen, she expressed her feelings about the incident, explaining how the bat held on tight and that the experience had frightened her. For your information, rabies is spread to humans through contact with an infected animal, including their saliva or brain and nervous system tissue; it is a brain disease that can potentially lead to death.

The CDC recommends rabies treatment for individuals who aren't vaccinated against the virus, which involves a single dose of immune globulins and four more doses over a two-week span.

The Pretty Reckless is currently serving as the opening act for AC/DC's summer tour, titled "Power Up." Momsen jokingly posted a photo of herself standing next to a "no bats" sign affixed to some of the band's backstage equipment, accompanied by a caption thanking AC/DC's crew members.

Momsen made her debut in 2009 as the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless and is also recognized for her role in the CW series "Gossip Girl," where she starred as Jenny Humphrey from 2007 to 2010.
