Frozen puck games - Draisaitl suffers defeat in first game of NHL Finals with Edmonton team.

In the first NHL Finals game, Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers faced the Florida Panthers, resulting in a 0:3 loss (0:1, 0:1, 0:1). This marked their debut in the Stanley Cup playoffs outside of Canada. Unlike any previous games in the North American ice hockey league's postseason, the Canadian team was unable to score a single goal.

Despite 32 shots towards Florida's goal, the Oilers were unlucky with Bobrovsky, who also stopped Draisaitl four times. As McDavid attempted to score six times, he noted, "There were some positive things about our game: we created lots of chances to score, but we weren't having much luck in front of their goal."

The Panthers scored early in both the first and second periods, with Carter Verhaeghe and Evan Rodrigues respectively. Eetu Luostarinen added a third goal just before the end of the game while the Oilers had switched out their goalkeeper for an additional field player.

The second match in this best-of-seven series will occur in Sunrise on Monday. The team that wins four games first will claim the Stanley Cup.
