Frozen puck game - Draisaitl Levels Score with Oilers in NHL Semi-Finals
Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers have tied their semi-final series against the Dallas Stars at 2-2, thanks to a 5-2 home victory. Following a disappointing 3-5 loss at home, the Oilers bounced back with a 2-2, 2-0, 1-0 win.
This series now shifts back to Dallas for the fifth game on Friday. The first team to win four games will advance to the final round of the North American ice hockey league.
After Draisaitl failed to contribute any goals in the last two games, he found the back of the net again and secured a 4-2 lead by the end of the second period. Draisaitl has now scored ten times in the playoffs, second only to his teammate, Zach Hyman. This makes Draisaitl the first Oilers player since Esa Tikkanen in 1990 and 1991 to score at least ten goals in two consecutive playoff seasons.
Connor McDavid, the Oilers' captain, reflected on their previous home defeat, where they lost despite having a 2-0 lead. "In the third game, our initial start didn't go as planned, and we still lost," said McDavid. "This time, it was the opposite. Everybody fought hard, and this win was crucial."
