Edmonton Oilers bounce back in the second round of the NHL playoffs, taking on the Vancouver Canucks. With standout performances from star players Leon Draisaitl and Conor McDavid, both players net four points each. McDavid redeems himself from his underwhelming game one performance.

The Oilers tied the series against the Canucks with a 1-1 standstill in the second round. Atrailing 5-4 in game two in Vancouver, the Oilers dominated with a 4-3 win in overtime. Matches three and four will take place in Edmonton on Monday and Wednesday, each team needing to win four games to move on to the next round.

These wins were thanks to impressive performances by both Draisaitl and McDavid. Draisaitl scored the tying goal at 1-1 and assisted on goals number 2-2 from Mattias Ekholm and 3-3 by McDavid. The pair later set up Evan Bouchard's game-winning goal six minutes into overtime. This was Draisaitl's sixth goal and his eighth to tenth assists in these playoffs.

McDavid, on the other hand, made a significant improvement from his one assist in game one. He put on a show again in game two. Alongside Draisaitl, McDavid praised his teammate's determination and work ethic, saying, "He might be the best player of all time. It's his will to do things better; there's no one like him." McDavid admitted to being disappointed after the first game, adding, "But you can count on him to come back all the strong."

"There's no one like them"

McDavid tops the playoff scoring charts with 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists) over Draisaitl (6 goals, 12 assists). Teammate Warren Foegele emphasised the impact of these stars: "They're certainly two of the best players in the league. It's their work ethic." Saturday's encounter saw the Oilers' first win against their Canadian rivals this season. With a solid reputation, Draisaitl is eyeing his first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals.

In a separate game, the Panthers edged past the Bruins in the best-of-seven series, capturing a 2-1 lead and a dominant 6-2 victory.
