Djokovic wins Paris-Bercy tournament
Tennis star Novak Djokovic has won the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy. The 24-time Grand Slam tournament winner from Serbia beat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6:4, 6:3 in the final with little trouble.
After 1:38 hours, the 36-year-old Serb converted his first match point to secure a well-deserved victory. Djokovic was seeded number one at the event, which has prize money of just under 5.8 million euros, and lived up to his role as favorite.
His opponent in the final, Dimitrov, had previously beaten Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece. Tsitsipas, in turn, had knocked the German Olympic champion Alexander Zverev out of the tournament in France in the round of 16.
Novak Djokovic's victory in Paris-Bercy marked his fourth title at the ATP Masters 1000 event. Grigor Dimitrov, who faced Djokovic in the final, also had notable victories, defeating 2021 Olympic champion Alexander Zverev from Germany in the round of 16.
