Just now, the first season of the "Star Wars" series "The Acolyte" has celebrated its finale - and already, new news from the far, far away galaxy is awaiting us. On the official X-account of the "Star Wars" franchise, the first photos of the series "Skeleton Crew" have been released. More than that, the release date has also been revealed - starting from December 3rd of this year, "Skeleton Crew" will land on streaming service Disney+ - or rather, take off.
The leading role will be played by actor Jude Law (51), who will portray the charming and Force-sensitive space adventurer Jod Na Nawood. His titular "skeleton crew" consists of four children from different backgrounds, as shown in the released images. Especially the little blue space elephant on the photos might quickly win the hearts of all fans of Grogu, also known as "Baby Yoda" from the series "The Mandalorian" - including the merchandise department at Disney.
When does "Skeleton Crew" take place?
Among the other stars of "Skeleton Crew" are actors Kerry Condon (41), known for "The Banshees of Inisherin", and Jaleel White (47), who is still known to many German sitcom fans by his character name Steve Urkel from "Family Matters". Those watching the series in English will also hear "Shaun of the Dead" comedian Nick Frost (52) lending his voice to the obligatory smart-aleck droid SM 33 in "Star Wars" formats.
The first season of "Skeleton Crew" will consist of eight episodes. The series takes place after the fall of the Empire, following the conclusion of the original trilogy "Return of the Jedi". The series is created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, who previously worked together as director and screenwriter on the superhero film "Spider-Man: Homecoming".
After the success of "The Acolyte," fans are excited for the upcoming series "Skeleton Crew" on Disney+. Starring Jude Law, the series follows a group of children and features a lovable blue space elephant reminiscent of "Baby Yoda."
