In a devastating turn of events, Leon Draisaitl's dream of winning the Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers could come to an end after a disastrous week. The dream was on the verge of becoming a reality until their defeat against the Florida Panthers in a 3-4 match right before Monday (MESZ). With a series score of 3-0, the Oilers find themselves in a precarious position, only needing four victories to secure the title.

Draisaitl, a German hockey star, expressed his frustration, stating that they essentially sabotaged their chances of winning. "It's very frustrating," he said. "We made some individual and collective mistakes that Florida took advantage of immediately." In his first NHL final series, Draisaitl remained pointless throughout.

Although the defeat was a blow to their morale, the Oilers tried to remain positive in the face of adversity. "We still have a lot of belief," said Edmonton's Coach Kris Knoblauch. "We've shown that we can beat this team." This sentiment was echoed by the team's goalkeeper Stuart Skinner, losing his composure, "I think we can be a great team and will find a way to defeat these guys."

Aiming to turn things around, the Oilers entered the fourth and possibly final game on Monday (MESZ) with high spirits, returning home to Rogers Place.

The game got off to a frenetic start with both teams vying for the upper hand and creating countless chances. The home side missed some prime opportunities to score on the powerplay. However, things took a turn for the worse as Panthers' Sam Reinhart successfully executed a deflection off a Gustav Forsling shot (19',), putting Florida in front.

The Oilers' response was swift as Warren Foegele tied the game with a goal (22'). But their celebrations were short-lived as the Panthers then proceeded to capitalize on their opponents' errors, with Wladimir Tarassenko (30'), Sam Bennett (34'), and Aleksander Barkov (36') each scoring within a span of 6:19 minutes, giving the Panthers a 4-1 advantage.

Despite the odds stacked against them, the Oilers managed to score two more goals in the third period with Philip Broberg's (47) deflected shot and Ryan McLeod's (55) late Goal. However, the defending champion Panthers held strong, seemingly crossing the finish line.
